Water Quality

The City of Henderson provides potable water from the Kerr Lake Regional Water System to Henderson and Vance County. In addition it also distributes water to three surrounding counties. The City has plans to increase and double capacity from 1OMGD to 20MGD by 2020.

The City of Henderson has received annual recognition from the North Carolina’s Department of Environmental Quality over several years attesting to the high quality of water that the City provides. It was awarded FIRST PLACE with the State’s “TASTE TEST AWARDS” four times since 2000 as well as receiving both a Second Place and a Third Place designation.

Customers know that they continuously receive safe water that is monitored on a 24/7 basis for thousands of potential contaminants. This ensures the quality and safety of the water and the service is dependable even in the unlikelihood of a power outage.
